Bubblews Income for September

For those that are wondering how my Bubblews income experiment is going, I’m afraid I got carried away. During September 2014 I returned to Bubblews to find it had had a makeover – some great new features and the loss of some handy older ones. On Bubblews you just “write your world”, where in 400 characters or more you can whitter on about your cat, your daily life, or anything!  So it’s a social media site that pays you for writing quick updates on everyday life/things/anything.   The income on Bubblews comes from advertising and their shared revenue model.

Now there’s a link to a sleeker “Last 50 posts” and also a link to the “Top 100 posts”.

So, what happened in September? I was starting again from scratch pretty much – having been absent for five months or so most had forgotten me, I wasn’t on their radar…. of course there’s always a dozen or so who do remember you, but the other 5000 people allegedly following you don’t know you from Adam.

So, here’s a quick overview of September’s stats: Bubblews Earnings September 2014

  • 132 posts written
  • $231 claimed
  • Most money earned in one day $14.90
  • Best performing post in September 2014:  Can’t Pay, We’ll Take It Away, earnings of over $3.

One of the changes was that the site now pays after 30/35 days, so there’s a long delay before I get paid these amounts …. so I’ll do updates as they come through.

It looks like I missed some site outages during August and lots of missed payments were reported in August – they appear to be catching up, but there are an increasing number of people bemoaning not been paid by Bubblews – only time will tell how this plays out.

UPDATE:

Bubblews closed down in 2016.

While with Bubblews I did earn and receive over $2000, so it’s a shame it was mismanaged as it was an easy way to make money from writing!

This happens with some sites, but if you can ride the wave of popularity you can sometimes win.  I did learn some new skills while writing with Bubblews, something that has added value to my knowledge, so it was a win:win for me.
