Work at Home: Freelance Video Producers

Freelance video producers are required to help work in collaboration with our About’s editors and Guides. Video producers get to set their own schedules, giving them the flexibility to work when it suits them. There are no requirements for how many videos to produce and deadlines can be set to accommodate your time requirements.

Rate of Pay
Video producers are paid a flat fee per video on spec. Once an account has been set up with About, producers are paid on a regular bi-weekly schedule.

To Apply
To become an About.com video producer, first submit a test video on a topic. If the test video meets About.com’s style and content requirements, then the candidate will receive full payment and officially become an About.com producer. Once a producer, you will be able to shoot videos on an ongoing basis and according to your own schedule.
