Arise is a company that recruits self-employed home-based telephone support workers in customer service, technical support and sales roles.

Not everybody is accepted – and they do make you jump through some hoops to become qualified to do the work, but Arise is a legitimate work at home company in the UK, having operated for many years in the US.

You do have to pay fees to Arise to become ‘certified’ – and you’re registered as self-employed, which might not suit everybody. Once qualified, you’re then on their approved list to be taken on by their large, often blue chip, clients, to work remotely.

In order to work through Arise, you’ll need access to a quiet and suitable homeworking space, that’s child-free and interruption-free. When you’re logged into the system and working you can’t drop everything mid-call, so you will need to think about how you can set yourself up to work at home professionally.
